What Is Sedecordle?

Sedecordle is a free, unlimited Wordle variant where you solve sixteen hidden five-letter words at the same time. Every guess is entered into all sixteen boards at once, and you have twenty-one guesses to crack them all.

The feedback is the classic Wordle color system, scored separately on each of the sixteen boards: green for the right letter in the right spot, yellow for a right letter in the wrong spot, gray for a letter not in that word. Sedecordle is the top of the multi-board ladder — Wordle one word, Quordle four, Octordle eight, Sedecordle sixteen — and it plays less like a puzzle than an endurance run. You can play this unlimited version in any modern browser, on desktop or mobile, with no app and no account.

The sixteen grids are laid out four across and four down. A single round can take many minutes, and the real difficulty is not any one word — most are ordinary — but holding sixteen separate trains of thought at once without losing track of which you have already solved.

How to Play Sedecordle in 5 Steps

  1. 01
Type one five-letter guess. Your guess is entered into all sixteen boards at the same time, so a single word gathers clues for sixteen hidden answers at once.
  2. 02
Scan all sixteen boards. Each board scores your guess on its own with the usual green, yellow, and gray feedback. The four-by-four grid scrolls on smaller screens.
  3. 03
Read the keyboard. With sixteen boards, each key shows its best status across every word still in play — green if the letter is confirmed anywhere, so you always know which letters are live.
  4. 04
Solve all sixteen within twenty-one guesses. You get twenty-one tries to crack all sixteen words. Each board freezes as you solve it, so the field thins out as you go.
  5. 05
Start a new Sedecordle instantly. Win or lose, click New Game for sixteen fresh words. No daily reset, no waiting.

Sedecordle vs Octordle vs Wordle

Sedecordle sits at the very top of the multi-board ladder. Here is how it compares:

Twenty-one guesses for sixteen words is actually a touch more generous per word than Octordle — the difficulty is not the math, it is the working memory. Keeping sixteen boards straight is the whole test, and a calm, systematic approach beats raw speed every time. Sedecordle is where the multi-board format stops being a quick puzzle and becomes a sit-down challenge — best saved for when you have the time to give all sixteen words your full attention.

The Best Sedecordle Starter Words (Data-Backed)

With sixteen boards to light up, a strong opening sequence matters more here than anywhere. We analyzed our five-letter answer pool to rank the openers that eliminate the most possibilities. Five letters — E, A, R, O, T — appear in most answers, so a starter covering them advances all sixteen boards at once.

Rank Word Top Letters Covered Avg Pool Eliminated

For Sedecordle, commit to a fixed four- or five-word opening that sweeps the most common letters — begin with RAISE and chain words that add the remaining vowels and consonants. Five strong openers will usually leave most of the sixteen boards with at least one or two greens before you start solving in earnest.

What a Sedecordle Board Looks Like

Sixteen five-letter grids fill a four-by-four layout and share one keyboard. Every guess fills all sixteen at once, colored for each hidden word. Here several boards are already solved while the rest are still open:

A Sedecordle board: sixteen 5-letter grids in a 4-by-4 layout sharing the same guesses, several solved and the rest in progress.
One guess feeds all sixteen grids. Solved boards freeze and dim, thinning the field as you work through it.

Because sixteen color segments will not fit on a single key, the keyboard here aggregates: each letter shows its best status across all the boards still in play. A green key means the letter is confirmed somewhere; a gray key means it is dead on every remaining board. It is a quick read that keeps a sixteen-board game manageable.

5 Tips to Win More Sedecordle Games

Sedecordle is won with patience and a system, not speed. These five habits keep a sixteen-board game from spiraling:

  1. 01
Open with four or five fixed words. Sweep the common letters before solving anything. The more boards you light up early, the less you have to juggle later.
  2. 02
Work the grid in a fixed order. Solve top-left to bottom-right so you never lose track of which of the sixteen words you have already finished.
  3. 03
Finish the near-solved boards first. Lock in every word with four greens before chasing the harder ones — banking easy solves shrinks the field you have to hold in mind.
  4. 04
Trust the aggregate keyboard. A gray key means that letter is dead everywhere; stop trying it. A green key means it lives somewhere — hunt for where.
  5. 05
Stay calm and go slow. Twenty-one guesses is plenty if you do not waste them. The losses come from rushing and mis-reading a board, not from running out of vocabulary.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sedecordle?
Sedecordle is a Wordle variant where you solve sixteen hidden five-letter words at the same time. Every guess is entered into all sixteen boards at once, and you have twenty-one guesses to crack them all. It is the largest of the mainstream multi-board Wordle games.
How many guesses do you get in Sedecordle?
Twenty-one. The convention is five base guesses plus one for each of the sixteen boards. It is a long game — a single round is a genuine marathon compared to a one-minute Wordle.
How is Sedecordle different from Octordle?
Sedecordle doubles Octordle again: sixteen boards instead of eight, and twenty-one guesses instead of thirteen. The challenge is less about any single word and more about tracking sixteen sets of clues at once without losing your place.
Does one guess apply to all sixteen boards?
Yes. There is a single input row; each five-letter word you submit is scored against all sixteen hidden answers independently and appears on all sixteen boards at the same time.
How does the keyboard work with sixteen boards?
Sixteen separate color segments per key would be too small to read, so the keyboard shows each letter’s best status across all the boards still in play — green if it is correct on any unsolved board, then yellow, then gray. It tells you at a glance which letters are still worth trying.
Can I play Sedecordle unlimited?
Yes. There is no one-puzzle-per-day cap here. Click New Game after any round and sixteen fresh words load immediately, so you can play Sedecordle unlimited times in a row.
Any tips for such a big board?
Spend your first four or five guesses on letter-rich words to light up as many boards as possible, then work the grid methodically — top-left to bottom-right — so you never lose track of which words you have already solved.
Is this affiliated with the official Wordle or Sedecordle?
No. This is an independent puzzle inspired by the sixteen-board mechanic. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by their creators or The New York Times Company.
