Wordle by Board Count: the Difficulty Ladder
The multi-board Wordle games are the same puzzle scaled up: you solve more hidden words from one shared set of guesses. The more boards, the harder it gets. Here they are from easiest to hardest:
Wordle by Letter Count
Prefer one board but a different word length? These change how long the hidden word is — shorter is faster and friendlier, longer demands more vocabulary. All keep the classic six guesses.

Dordle vs Quordle vs Octordle vs Sedecordle
The four multi-board games share one mechanic and differ only in scale. Here is the side-by-side:
| Game | Boards | Guesses | Guesses per word | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dordle | 2 | 7 | 3.5 | Medium |
| Quordle | 4 | 9 | 2.25 | Hard |
| Octordle | 8 | 13 | 1.6 | Very Hard |
| Sedecordle | 16 | 21 | 1.3 | Expert |
Notice the guesses-per-word column shrink as boards grow — that is why bigger boards reward broad, information-first openings over the urge to finish whichever word looks closest.
Which Wordle Game Should You Play?
If you are new to Wordle variants, start in the middle and move outward. The standard five-letter Infinite Wordle is the reference point everything else is measured against. From there:
- Want it easier or quicker? Drop to 4 Letter Wordle for short, fast rounds, ideal for beginners, kids, and English learners.
- Want a tougher single word? Step up to 6 Letter or 7 Letter Wordle — same six guesses, a longer word to crack.
- Want to juggle several words? Climb the board ladder: Dordle (2) → Quordle (4) → Octordle (8) → Sedecordle (16). Each doubles the words you track at once.
- Stuck mid-game? The Wordle Solver filters the answer list from your clues and suggests the strongest next guess.
The hardest game here is Sedecordle, but "hardest" mostly means most to keep track of. If a sixteen-board grid feels overwhelming, Quordle and Octordle deliver most of the multi-board thrill in a shorter sitting.
