Privacy Policy
Short version: your game progress is stored only in your own browser. We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate visitor stats, and Google AdSense to serve the ads that pay for hosting. Both set cookies, and Google may use cookies, web beacons, and your IP address to serve and measure those ads. We never see who you are. The longer version follows, including how to turn personalised ads off.
Information We Collect
We do not collect personally identifying information ourselves. The site has no user accounts, no login, no email signup, and no contact form — the only way to reach us is by writing to contact@infinitewordle.net, and we keep those messages only as long as it takes to answer them.
Our advertising partner does collect data through this site. That is covered in Section 03 below, and it is the part most worth reading.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records anonymous, aggregated request data — IP address, user agent, referrer, and request path — for the purpose of serving the page and detecting abuse. This is standard web server logging and is not tied to a user identity. We do not have access to logs that identify you personally.
Cookies and Local Storage
Cookies. We do not set any first-party tracking cookies of our own. Three third parties set cookies on this site:
- Google AdSense and its advertising partners set
cookies to serve ads, cap how often you see the same ad, and
measure whether an ad worked. Google's main advertising cookie is
__gads/__gpi; partners may set their own. Google also uses web beacons (small invisible pixels) and your IP address for the same purposes. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in its How Google uses information from sites that use its services notice. - Google Analytics 4 sets
_gaand_ga_*cookies (typically 2-year expiry) to count unique visitors and sessions. These cookies do not contain your name, email, or any directly identifying data; Google describes their contents in its cookie reference. - Cloudflare may set a minimal security cookie
(
__cf_bmor similar) to distinguish humans from bots; it does not identify you and is not used for advertising.
Local storage. The game stores three things in your browser's local storage so your progress persists between visits on the same browser:
- infwordle.stats — games played, games won, current streak, max streak, and the distribution of guesses per win.
- infwordle.prefs — your theme choice (light / dark / system).
- infwordle.history — the last 20 answer words you have seen, used so the random picker can avoid repeats.
None of the local-storage data leaves your browser, and clearing your browser data resets it. The cookies listed above are a separate matter — see Section 04 for how to switch off personalised advertising.
Third Parties
The site contacts four third-party services:
- Google AdSense (publisher ID
ca-pub-7892203965442076) serves the display ads that pay for hosting. As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google and its partners may collect your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view here, and interactions with the ads themselves. We receive only aggregate earnings and performance figures — never data about an individual visitor. - Google Fonts serves the Fraunces display font on first visit. Google may log the font request as part of its standard CDN operation; their privacy notice covers that usage.
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID
G-12TKH3F7LM) records aggregate visitor data: anonymised IP, page path, country, device category, referrer, and basic engagement signals (time on page, scroll depth). We use these to understand which pages are read and to spot broken flows. We never view individual-user data and we never sell, share, or upload anything to ad platforms. - Cloudflare hosts the site and routes every request through its global CDN. Standard server logs (IP, user-agent, request path) are kept by Cloudflare for abuse detection; we do not access them under normal operation.
We do not use Facebook Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or any other behavioural-tracking or session-replay service, and we do not build remarketing or audience lists from your activity here.
Advertising and Your Choices
Ads pay the hosting bill. That is the whole business model — there is no paid tier, no data being sold, and nothing to sign up for. What follows is what that means for you, and how to change it.
Personalised advertising
Google may use the advertising cookies described above to show you ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can turn this off for your Google account at any time:
- Visit Google My Ad Center to switch personalised ads off or adjust the topics you see.
- Visit aboutads.info or Your Online Choices (EU/UK) to opt out of personalised advertising across many vendors at once.
- Blocking third-party cookies in your browser also stops personalised ads here. The game itself keeps working — it does not depend on cookies at all.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland
Where consent is legally required before advertising cookies are set, that consent is collected through a Google-certified consent management platform before any personalised ad is served, and your choice is remembered. You can change or withdraw it by clearing this site's cookies and reloading the page. Google's EU user consent policy sets out what is required of publishers, and the opt-out links above work regardless of where you are.
Analytics
To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or enable "Do Not Track" or the equivalent setting in your browser.
Children's Privacy
Infinite Wordle is a general-audience site. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not use this site's activity to build audience profiles or target advertising at children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, write to contact@infinitewordle.net and we will delete it.
Your Rights and How to Reach Us
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, or to object to its processing — for example under the GDPR in the EEA, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA in California. Because we hold no account data, most such requests are best directed at Google, which is the party actually processing advertising data. We will help where we can.

Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes — a new analytics or advertising provider, or a new category of data — we will update the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page and call out the change in a visible notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. We will not start collecting new categories of data without notice.
