Privacy Policy
Short version: we don't use tracking cookies, we don't collect any personal information, and your game progress is stored only in your own browser. The longer version follows.
Information We Collect
We do not collect personally identifying information of any kind. The site does not have user accounts, login forms, email signups, or contact forms.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records anonymous, aggregated request data — IP address, user agent, referrer, and request path — for the purpose of serving the page and detecting abuse. This is standard web server logging and is not tied to a user identity. We do not have access to logs that identify you personally.
Cookies and Local Storage
Cookies. We do not set any first-party tracking
cookies. Cloudflare may set a minimal security cookie
(__cf_bm or similar) to distinguish humans from
bots; this cookie does not identify you and is not used for
advertising.
Local storage. The game stores three things in your browser's local storage so your progress persists between visits on the same browser:
- infwordle.stats — games played, games won, current streak, max streak, and the distribution of guesses per win.
- infwordle.prefs — your theme choice (light / dark / system).
- infwordle.history — the last 20 answer words you have seen, used so the random picker can avoid repeats.
None of this data leaves your browser. Clearing your browser data will reset it. You will never be asked to opt in or accept tracking, because there is none to accept.
Third Parties
The site loads one external resource on first visit: the Fraunces display font from Google Fonts. Google Fonts serves the font file and may log a request as part of its standard CDN operation; their privacy notice covers that usage.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or any similar visitor-tracking service. If we add ad monetisation in the future, this policy will be updated and a standard ad-consent banner will appear for users in jurisdictions that require one.
Children's Privacy
The game is suitable for general audiences, including children, and does not collect data of any kind. We do not knowingly process any personal information of children under 13 because we do not process any personal information of anyone.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes — for example, adding ad monetisation or analytics — we will update the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page and call out the change in a visible notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. We will not start collecting new categories of data without notice.
